Brandon Township is governed by three elected supervisors who each serve four-year terms and are assisted by a treasurer and clerk who are appointed by the supervisors. The township holds election of supervisors in conjunction with the national election held in November of even numbered years.

The township government focuses primarily on maintaining forty-six miles of township roads, conducting monthly meetings and overseeing local elections. The township does not have a zoning ordinance and does not issue building permits. These are handled by Douglas County.
