Authorization for Individual Supervisor to Purchase Needed Supplies
or Order Work Done in a Necessary Emergency
WHEREAS, The Town Board of Brandon Township, Douglas County, Minnesota recognizes the need to purchase needed supplies or order work done in case of an emergency, such as a breakdown of township equipment, washout of a township road or need to have trees removed after a storm.
WHEREAS, All of the Township Supervisors are involved from time to time in the above described activities.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board has authorized each of the Township Supervisors to individually purchase needed supplies or order work done when necessity requires, without the express vote of the board.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the authorization is limited to an expenditure of $5,000.00 per order and is to be used only when the calling of a special town meeting is not feasible prior to the supplies needed or work to be done. This authorization applies for the period from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019, and must be renewed annually.
