Brandon Township Meeting Minutes - October 18, 2010 The regular monthly meeting of the Brandon Township Board was held on Monday, October 18, 2010 at the Brandon Community Center with Paul Lauthen, Michael Cleary, Jennifer Lanners, Diane Smith and Adrian Ledermann present. The meeting was called to order by Paul Lauthen at 7:00 p.m. The pledge of allegiance was recited. Clerks Report: The minutes of the September 20th meeting were addressed. The minutes were approved on a motion by Lanners, seconded by Cleary and carried. Treasurer’s Report: Beginning balance on 9/01/2010 was $38,206.09. Interest from Revenue on account at Bremer was $1.48. Other income was $725.00. Orders issued were $26,757.61 for a total ending balance of $12,174.96. Investments reported included Tar & Road Fund received $83.57 in interest to now total $145,332.13. CD #141683 now totals $60,498.18. Motion made by Cleary, seconded by Lauthen, to approve report; carried. Public CommentOne visitor was present. No comments or new agenda. Old Business: a. Election preparation is continuing. Ledermann to do pre-test on Tuesday; sample ballots were viewed; all notices have been published.b. Regional Planning report; Maps and materials of Douglas County Comprehensive Plan as proposed by committee and David Rush were viewed.c. AAEDC sponsored luncheon was attended by Cleary; great meal; good information on Gardonville who received the 2010 award.d. Primary Election Audit at Brandon Township was given thumbs up by county election official, Vicky.e. Dog nuisance problem discussed, no further action taken. New Business:a. One land use permit was reviewed.b. AAEDC breakfast on Oct. 26 will be attended by Cleary and Ledermann.c. Public Accuracy test for Brandon Township will be held on Oct. 27, 2010 at 5 p.m. at Brandon City Hall.d. Road changes request from DC Public Works. No changes for Brandon Township. Clerk will seek more maps for township and seek total township mileage.e. Road review: Cleary has straightened Wolf Creek sign. Lauthen will order new Bear Creek Trail sign that is missing.f. CD renewal needed. Motion by Lanners, seconded by Lauthen, authorized treasurer Smith to investigate rates and renew the CD.g. Moon Lake access will be purchased by DNR. Concerns were reported and responded do by DNR. Claims and Wages. Claims were presented and viewed by the board. Claims included: Alexandria Area Economic Develop-$20.00 for banquet ticket; Douglas County Public Works-$39.27 for pavement striping; Viking Garage Door-$141.71 for door repair; Hilltop Lumber-$969.66 for culverts; Bobs Adium-$52.72 for mower fuel; Otter Tail Power-$29.90 for shop electricity; IRS-$566.72 for 3rd Qt; PERA-$124.80 for 3rd Qt. Claims were ordered to be paid on a motion by Lanners, seconded by Cleary and carried. The next monthly Meeting will be Monday, November 15, 2010.
