Brandon Township Meeting Minutes - September 20, 2010 The regular monthly meeting of the Brandon Township Board was held on Monday, September 20, 2010 at the Brandon Community Center with Paul Lauthen, Michael Cleary, Jennifer Lanners, Diane Smith and Adrian Ledermann present. The meeting was called to order by Paul Lauthen at 7:00 p.m.  The pledge of allegiance was recited. Clerks Report:  The minutes of the August 16th meeting were addressed.   The minutes were approved on a motion by Cleary, seconded by Lanners and carried. Treasurer’s Report:  Beginning balance on 8/01/2010 was $39,090.43.   Interest from Revenue on account at Bremer was $1.70.  Other income was $1,886.20 which included $519.60 from Douglas County and $1,366.60 from Brandon residents. Orders issued were $2,772.24 for a total ending balance of $38,206.09.  Investments reported included Tar & Road Fund received $97.43 in interest to now total $145,248.56.  CD #141683 now totals $60,498.18.   Motion made by Cleary, seconded by Lauthen, to approve report; carried.   Public CommentTwo visitors were present; Jeff Stabnow presented new sign policy booklet and suggested that the changes in the policy be presented at the next annual meeting Old Business:  a. Road review:  Request for more gravel on Edgefield Rd was looked at; two culverts have been replaced; cattle pass removal on Lehn U turn requires gravel; Lauthen will do.b.. Township building project has been completed; big door needs new bottom gasket.c.  Supervisor term of office resolution was reviewed and will be available at election site.d.  Chloride report indicated several letters need to be sent; four residents seem to be opting out of paying and will be discontinued or other residents on the road will pick up added costs.  Severson Rd bill presented will not be paid but resident who did collecting will receive a partial credit on 2011 bill. Request from Burlington Rd that chlorided road not be bladed during the summer.  New Business:a.  Two land use permits was reviewed.b. Lucky's Propane bill contract for 2011 was reviewed.  $1.59 per gallon for 1000 gallons.c. Someplace Safe announcement indicated that Douglas County will hold Oct. 19-27 as domestic awareness week with various activities.d. Gardonville Permit to dig in new lines along Utopia Rd was signed after a motion by Lanners, seconded by Cleary and carried.e. Dog problem on Chippewa Hts road was discussed as two complaint letters from residents were received.  Clerk will send a letter to dog owner along with copy of state policy on nuisance dogs requesting owner to take actionf.  Other clerk notes indicated a letter alerting township to DNR plans to purchase Moon Lake plot from Brandon Fin and Feather Club to continue Moon Lake boat access; and a note alerting township to hearing regarding the CapX2020 power line. Claims  and Wages.  Claims were presented and viewed by the board.  Claims included: Austin Auto-$24.84 for tire repair; Douglas County Public works-$15,344.33 for chloride; Computer Specialists-$44.25 for computer repair;  City of Brandon-$148.65 for water/sewer; Bobs Adium-$57.02 for mower fuel; Klimek's Tree Service-$50.00 for tree removal; Otter Tail Power-$30.92 for shop electricity; Kronberg Tree Service-$1,816.88 for tree trimming; Bill Ness Construction-$2,926.00 for steel facia and new door; West Central electric-$168.50 for shop rewire; West Central MN Petroleum, LLC-$1,336.32 for diesel; Midwest Machinery Co.-$97.53 for tractor/mower repair; Lauthen-$56.50 for mileage; Ledermann-$12.50 for mileage; Bitzan Backhoe Service-$555.00 for culvert placement; Cleary-$42.00 for mileage; Lanners-$16.00 for mileage. Claims were ordered to be paid on a motion by Cleary, seconded by Lanners and carried. The next monthly Meeting will be Monday, October 18, 2010. The meeting was adjourned at 7:55 p.m.Adrian Ledermann, clerk.
