Brandon Township Meeting, Monday, March 18, 2019
March, 2019 Meeting Minutes
The March township supervisor meeting was held on March 18, 2019, at the Brandon Community Center with Supervisors Kerby Lund, Dennis Lund and Bryan Meichsner present together with Treasurer Kathy Zimmerman, Clerk Mike Cleary and Township Engineer, Jeff Stabnow. With a quorum present, the meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm. The pledge of allegiance was recited by all.
Agenda: Motion to approve agenda by D. Lund. Second by Meichsner. Motion carried 3-0.
Minutes: Motion to waive reading of the minutes of the February 19, 2019 Board of Audit Meeting and the February 19, 2019 Regular Monthly Meeting and to approve same by Meichsner. Second by D. Lund. Motion carried 3-0.
Treasurer’s Report: Beginning cash and investment balance on 2/1/19 was $364,610.40. February, 2019 receipts and disbursements were $25,186.97 and $6,424.76, respectively, resulting in an ending balance of $383,372.61 at 2/28/2019. Motion to approve the treasurer's report by D. Lund. Second by Meichsner. Motion carried 3-0.
a. Motion to purchase a new garage door for the township garage by K. Lund. Second by Meichsner. Motion carried 3-0.
b. Bids for the Tanglewood Road Paving Project will be solicited in April for opening at the May meeting.
c. Cleary presented a draft of the revised mailbox support policy. The supervisors will review and discuss at the April meeting.
d. Cleary will write a letter to the owners of Parcel 09-0082-750 requesting that they acknowledge the conditions on which this parcel has been removed from the Wolf Creek Area Paving Project.
a. Motion by D. Lund to approve the 2019 donation of $2,300 to the AAEDC and the 2020 donation of $28,930.96 to the Brandon Fire Department and a donation to the Douglas County Historical Society of $200. Second by Meichsner. Motion carried 3-0.
b. Motion by Meichsner to renew the $50,000 CD with Bremer Bank for another year. Second by K. Lund. Motion carried 3-0.
c. The supervisors authorized K. Lund contact Balgaard Services for a gravel quote for 2019..
Claims and Wages: Motion by Meichsner to approve claims and wages totaling $15,138.67 and to transfer
$15,000 from the Money Market Account to the Checking Account. Second by D. Lund. Motion carried 3-0. The full list of claims is available for public inspection in the Township Clerk’s office.
Adjournment: Motion at 8:30 pm to adjourn by D. Lund. Second by Meichsner. Motion carried 3-0
