Brandon Township Meeting Minutes – September 17, 2007
The regular monthly meeting of the Brandon Township Board was held on Monday, September 17, 2007 at the Brandon Community Center with Gaylin Croonquist, Don Buse, Paul Lauthen, Diane Smith and Adrian Ledermann present.
The meeting was called to order by the chair, Gaylin Croonquist at 8 p.m. The pledge of allegiance was recited.
Clerks Report: The minutes of the August meeting were addressed. The minutes were approved as read with a motion by Lauthen, seconded by Buse, and carried.
Treasurer’s Report: Beginning balance as of 8/1/07: $ 29,763.54. Interest from Revenue on account at Bremer as $7.68. Other income was $1,199.88. Orders issued totaling $7650.77, for a total ending balance of $23,320.33 . Investments reported included Tar & Road Fund received $243.34 in interest to total $65,431.72; 12 month CD renewed for one year totals $54,104.63; and 18 month CD renewed for one year totals $154,489.84. Motion made by Lauthen, seconded by Buse, to approve report; carried.Public Comment:
No visitors were present
a. Sewer Update: Buse reported that progress continues; ALSD permit has been revoked, but it won't affect Lobster lake area although they are still waiting for federal bill to be passed and signed. All agencies involved will be notified about construction plans and photos will be taken for surveying by spring 08. A new resolution on Tanglewood petition was passed on a motion by Buse, seconded by Lauthen and carried. Ledermann will make copies of plots and area and give to Buse who will forward to CLASD board.
b. Moon Lake Road: Croonquist contacted Land and Resource who contacted DNR about bulldozing.
c. Bremer charge: Smith contacted local Bank and Bremer with little response.
Suggestion was made to drop the concern.d. Hedeen Road: Rollie Kroneberg was contacted and has done some work in the area. New Business:
a. Land Use permits were reviewed.
b. Xcel Engergy public meetings. Buse may attend Barrett meeting
c. Township Website: not needed at this time.
d. Feedlot permits: Adrian will be contact person for county permit officer.
e. Census 2010: no further action taken. Township has until Dec. 30 to register.
f. Insurance: Country will continue to be the supplier.
g. CD to be renewed on September 22. Smith will find best rate and renew.
Claims: Claims were presented and viewed by the board included: City of Brandon-$127.65 for utilities; Alden Just- $6,951.13 for road maintenance; Lakes Area Humane - $89.46 for impound; West Central Petroleum-$1,441.72 for diesel; Douglas County Works-$9,314.17 for chloride; Lee Tiling-$275.00 for culvert; Ottertail Power- $45.71 for shop electricity; Gerald Buse-$375.00 for Edgefield upkeep; Bitzan Backhoe-$305.00 for culvert.
Claims and wages were ordered to be paid with a motion by Lauthen, seconded by Buse, and carried.Meeting adjourned at 9:15; motion by Buse, seconded by Lauthen .Adrian Ledermann, clerk.
