Brandon Township Monthly Meeting Minutes

September 19, 2016

 

The September monthly meeting was held on September 19, 2016, at the Brandon Community Center with Gene Fynboh, Mike Cleary, Gaylin Croonquist, Kerby Lund and Adrian Ledermann present. The meeting was called to order by Fynboh 7:00 p.m. The pledge of allegiance was recited.

 

Clerks Report: The minutes of the August 15th, meeting were addressed. The reading of the minutes was waved and the minutes approved on a motion by Fynboh, seconded by Lund, and carried.

 

Treasurer’s Report: Beginning cash balance on 6/1/2015 was $19,278.35. Receipts were $82,828.31 ($80,000.00 was transferred from Money Market.) Disbursements were $89,657.64 leaving a balance of $12,499.02. Investments reported included Tar & Road Fund received $11.58 in interest to now total $283,585.76 which includes two CDs that were renewed and now come due 11-23-2018. The treasurer's report was then approved on a motion by Croonquist, seconded by Lund, and approved.

 

Public Comment: Engineer Stabnow was present.

 

Agenda Approval: The agenda was approved on a motion by Fynboh, seconded by Lund and carried.

 

Old Business- Ongoing Business:

a. Road Report: Five loads of gravel were ordered, 3 for Big Chip Rd and 2 for Nursery Lane. Two loads of gravel from Balgaard were ordered for Walleye Rd. Croondquist requested help for stablizing some tipped signs. Questions were raised about approach and culvert privately installed on Whiskey Lake Rd. Request to check on aggregate needed on Sara Rd, maybe add fabric until grass grows. Mowing has begun.

Lund and Croondquist plan to meet with Bitzan Backhoe to look at several ditch needed improvement areas on Big Chip Rd (new culvert needed) including run off near new Septic drainfield.

b. Report on Big Chip Road area Special meeting. Meeting went well with 31 residents present. Road improvement needs before considering paving were discussed at length, including Sara Rd extension and number of driveways mounded directly to Big Chip Rd. Clerk Ledermann was directed to look at drawing up a resolution to formally accept the plotted extension of Big Chip Road in the Wheeler addition. The minutes of the September 17, special meeting were read and then approved on a motion by Fynboh, seconded by Lund and carried.

 

New Business:

a. Two building permits were received.

b. Board set Tuesday, Nov. 1, 4:45 pm as the date for the general election public accuracy test on a motion by Lund, seconded by Croondquist and carried.

c. Clerk notes included post primary election notes form Doehling; LTAP info (Sign Maintenance workshop: Fynboh and Cleary planning to attend). BIAD lunch at Arrowwood on Oct. 25, 2016. New

d. Clerk needs new checks printed.

 

Claims and Wages: Claims and wages totaling $ 42,670.74 were reviewed and approved on a motion by Croonquist, seconded by Lund and carried with aye votes from Croonquist, Lund and Fynboh. The full list of claims is available for public inspection in the Township Clerk's Office.

 

Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 pm on a motion by Croonquist, seconded by Lund and carried.,
