Brandon Township Monthly Meeting Minutes

October 19, 2015

 

The October monthly meeting was held on October 19, 2015 at the Brandon Community Center with Gene Fynboh, Mike Cleary, Gaylin Croonquist, Kerby Lund and Adrian Ledermann present. The meeting was called to order by Fynboh at 7:00 p.m. The pledge of allegiance was recited.

 

Clerks Report: The minutes of the September 21st meeting were addressed. The reading of the minutes were waved and approved on a motion by Croonquist seconded by Lund, and carried. Clerk reported additions to the agenda included info on the MN Board of appeal policy and training; Klimek certificate of liability; Land Stewardship info; per diem form change; and Wolf Creek Rd tiling.

 

Treasurer’s Report: Beginning balance on 09/1/2015 was $41,390.16. Receipts were $1,194.33. Disbursements were $26,683.89 leaving a balance of $34,136.76. Investments reported included Tar & Road Fund received $3.39 in interest, to now total $287,808.74 which includes three CDs. The treasurer's report was then approved on a motion by Lund, seconded by Croonquist, and approved.

 

Public Comment: No visitors were present.

 

Agenda Approval: The agenda was approved on a motion by Croonquist, seconded by Lund, and carried.

 

Old Business:

a. Road report/grading report: Roads have been graded twice, and will be again after rain before winter. Devil's Lake Rd tiling has been completed by Charles Olson Excavating-a good job done; Road ditch mowing will be resumed later this week; new salt/sand forms from Douglas County will be reproduced, then placed in the truck and sent in by fax monthly by Lund.

b. MATIT endorsement forms showing the replacement cost update were viewed.

c. East Sara Rd concerns: Communication with Rush indicated that he was still working on possibilities.

 

New Business:

a. Building permits: Three permits were reviewed.

b. Computer Web site repair: Dynamic 14 was engaged to do the repair and has successfully completed the web site repair.

c. MAT annual meeting in November was discussed with possible attendees from Brandon Township. No commitments were made.

d. Wolf Creek Road tiling process and permission for landowner to tile through the township road was reviewed.

e. Clerk is to send Pro Ag bill for grading.

f. Clerk will bring info to next meeting about approach policy to township roads.

g. Clerk notes included: MAT news letter; Rep. Backer invite to town hall meeting; MNDOT fall expo invite; Land Stewardship letter seeking volunteers for advisory committee; and new time/expense forms being proposed.

 

Claims and Wages: Claims included: Ziegler Cat-$35.02 for grader repair; Klimek's Tree Service-$450.00 for tree removal; City of Brandon-$59.55 for water/sewer; MATIT-$234.00 for commercial insurance upgrade; West Central Petroleum-$959.70 for diesel; Pro Ad Farmers Co-op-$61.00 for grass seed; The Record-$4.95 for public notice; Dynamic 14-$330.00 for web site repair; Okerlund Graveling-$291.00 for gravel; Ottertail Power-$23.19 for shop electricity; Charles Olson Excavating-$2,520.00 for road tiling; and $1,275.00 for salaries and wages. Claims and wages were approved on a motion by Lund, seconded by seconded by Croonquist, and carried with aye votes from Croonquist, Lund, and Fynboh.

 

Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 7:50 pm on a motion by Croonquist, seconded by Lund, and carried..
