Brandon Township Meeting Minutes October 17, 2011 The regular monthly meeting of the Brandon Township Board was held on Monday, Oct. 17, 2011 at the Brandon Community Center with Paul Lauthen, Michael Cleary, Gene Fynboh, Diane Smith and Adrian Ledermann present.  The meeting was called to order by Mike Cleary at 7:00 p.m.  The pledge of allegiance was recited. Clerks Report:  The minutes of the Sept. 19th meeting were addressed.   The minutes were approved on a motion by Lauthen, seconded by Cleary, and carried. Treasurer’s Report:  Beginning balance on 09/01/2011 was $7,073.85.   Interest from Revenue on account at Bremer was $.32.  Other income was $280.00.  Transferred in from Money Market was $5,000.00.  Orders issued were $8,003.96 for a total ending balance of 4,350.21.  Investments reported included Tar & Road Fund received $42.79 in interest, transferred out to checking was $5,000.00, to now total $202,343.90.   Motion made by Lauthen, seconded by Cleary, and carried to approve report. Public Comment: Two visitors were present to address issues that were brought up. Agenda Approval:  The agenda was approved with no additional items on a motion by Lauthen, seconded by Cleary, and approved. Old Business:  a. Road update:  A request for gravel on Whiskey Lake was received.  Clerk Ledermann was directed to call Okerlund Graveling to haul one load of gravel there. Request for gravel on Aldrich Road will be addressed in spring of 2012b. Road sign update:  Stabnow presented a copy of sign inventory which was reviewed by the board.  Clerk will contact neighboring townships to clarify sign responsibilities for shared town line roads.  Stabnow will finalize inventory along with recommendations and provide web site copy previous to the annual town meeting in March 2012c. Chloride reimbursements stand at 2 delinquent payments from residents.    d. Letter approving Big Chip road bore for sewer extension was read and signed by the chair. New Business:a. Need for new mower was discussed.  Board will consider renting one for 2012 to check out. b. Clerk notes included letter from Douglas County Emergency indicating no FEMA funds will be available for storm damage.  MAT news info indicates that as of Oct 1, 2011, all township purchases will be exempt from sales tax. Claims and Wages:  Claims and wages requests were presented and viewed by the board.  Claims included:  Evansville Township- $280.50 for gravel; Bobs Adium-$149.45 for mower fuel; West Central Petroleum-$1,839.13 for diesel; PERA-$155.00 for 3rd QT.;  IRS-$483.33 for 3rd Qt.; and Ottertail Power-$29.26 for shop electricity.  Claims and Wages were ordered to be paid on a motion by Lauthen, seconded by Cleary, and approved. On motion by Cleary, seconded by Fynboh, the meeting was adjourned at 8:09 p.m. Next month meeting will be on Monday, November 21, 2011, 7p.m. at the Brandon Community Center. Adrian Ledermann, clerk
